Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026. This page explains what personal information AfterBell Kids collects, why it is collected, and how it is handled.

1. Who we are

AfterBell Kids is a private, founder-run program discovery service based in British Columbia, Canada. We organize publicly available information about after-school care, holiday camps, and school-break programs across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

At the time of this policy, AfterBell Kids is not yet operating through a separate incorporated business or registered nonprofit entity. If that changes, this policy will be updated.

2. Public listing data versus personal information

Most of AfterBell Kids' catalog is factual program information about organizations and public offerings, such as dates, prices, ages, locations, and registration links.

We do not intentionally publish private personal information or build profile pages for named individuals. If public source material includes unnecessary personal data, we may limit or remove it from our catalog.

When a provider or individual asks us to correct inaccurate information or review a listing for removal, we review that request manually. Requests can be sent to

3. Information we collect

We may collect:

  • Account information - your email address and password hash if you create an account.
  • Preferences - saved programs, alert settings, and region preferences.
  • Usage data - pages visited, searches performed, and features used.
  • Contact information - name and email if you contact us directly.

4. How we use your information

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

  • Operate and improve the AfterBell Kids service.
  • Send alerts and notifications you have opted into.
  • Respond to support requests and inquiries.
  • Understand how families use the service so we can improve it.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

5. Information sharing

  • Service providers - trusted vendors (hosting, analytics, email) under contractual obligations.
  • Legal requirements - if required by law or court order.
  • Project transition - if AfterBell Kids later moves into a formal business or nonprofit structure, or if the project is transferred as part of that transition.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, or as required by law. Account information is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.

7. Cookies and tracking

AfterBell Kids uses cookies to maintain session state and remember preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function as expected.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of internet transmission is completely secure - we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's privacy

AfterBell Kids is designed for parents and guardians, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we update the "last updated" date. If a future change is material, we will try to provide a clear notice through the service or by email where appropriate.
